Are today's youth choosing God but not the Church?

THIS WEEK'S TOPIC:
Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, 6 to 7 pm
Hosted by Eddie DOG (Disciple of God)
Guest: Patricia Hendricks, author of
"Hungry Souls, Holy Companions: Mentoring a New Generation of Christians"

Studies show that kids generally want to live spiritual lives and have a relationship with God. The problem is that some traditional outlets are no longer drawing them in.

Author Patricia Hendricks, through years of exhaustive research and interviews, was surprised at the hunger so many young people have for spiritual growth. She learned that these people weren't too young to grasp spiritual depth, and she also found that in every denomination, those involved in the religious formation of youth are always seeking better ways to make Christian faith part of the lives of the new generation.

The Question is: "Are today's youth choosing God but not the Church?"

True Family Crisis: "the destructuring of families"

THIS WEEK'S TOPIC:
Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, 6 to 7 pm
Hosted by Eddie DOG (Disciple of God)

Our society face a true crisis today. There is a pervasive movement that seeks to change the definition of the nuclear family as we know it. This movement seeks to convince us that the traditional ideal concept of a two-parent household needs to be revised and adapted to encourage single-family households and gay-couple households with children.

This "destructuring of families" and its contribution to the downfall of society is the topic we are tackling this week at Generation Connection.
